Deb KellerMiddle school is a time of transition for adolescents. We respect student's developmental needs by providing a variety of learning experiences outside the classroom. Our students organize school dances, and are involved in many service projects in the community. Students can serve on the student Leadership Council, play sports and/or produce a middle school newspaper. Our mission is to educate their hearts as well as their minds. Let us welcome you and your student. The door is always open!

Throughout adolescence the adult personality is beginning to emerge, young people are testing reasonableness, tolerance, empathy--or lack of it. Allowing them to explore their own self-awareness is part of loving them.
Yes, it's true sarcasm emerges, rudeness is not unusual and adolescents are loud. But remember this is only a tunnel they must go through as they learn to negotiate the adult world. Your patience and support at this time is a part of loving them.
My advice to parents is garner support, be brave enough to be a parent during this period in your child's life (don't worry they'll still have plenty of friends!), and when things get rough remember you gotta love 'em, they belong to you!
